Modified EV badges

My RAV4 EV 2012 is just a month old and I have changed the badges on the front and back to make it more to my liking ( the attached photos). Toyota calls it the 2nd generation RAV4 EV. Under ideal conditions, driven on the freeway at 55 mph and if the traffic is not stop and go and you have a very light accelerator foot, you can get well over 130 miles on a single charge. I did a 100 mile trip the other day with 30 miles left on the range meter. I found there are many more charging stations around than those listed on the carís navigation map, thatís more than the number of gas stations locally, so range is not a problem for me. The acceleration is just unbelievable even when you are not in sport mode. Toyota made the ride a little stiff to support the 840 pound battery. It comes with a Tesla battery, controls and drive motor with the only options of silver, blue or white, I got the white one. Charging at home is quite magical, just plug it into the 40 amp charger and after midnight it turns on the charger and fills up the car, also the electric company charges only 10 cents a kwh at that time. Toyota is building only 2600 of these vehicles to comply with Californiaís regulations and after that the Canadians wonít be making any more. I was put through a special signing ceremony at the dealership to drill it into me that this car has no gas engine, the batteries have a finite life and if taken it out of California I canĎt get the car serviced. This car is not for everyone, itís pricey and has a limited range on a single charge, but is the most fun car Iíve ever had and Iím not burning gas doing it.

I lightened up my Rav4 EV by replacing the right rear tire with a smaller wheel. I think it goes faster past the oil dispensing places (you call them gas stations, I think):

2012 Rav4-EV, no gasoline, no emissions, all the power

I like the extra ELECTRIC badge on the back, sobayimage.

Where did you buy the badge from...seems that EV-specific parts are kind of hard to find...?

Nice looking car! Electric motors have very strong torque, giving a good jump from a stop.

2012 RAV4 - wife's car that I get to drive.
It is everything we expected and more!
