Been lurking, searching and watching Rav videos non stop for the past week.
I want the 2016 Rav4 Hybrid / Limited.
I got a chance to quickly sit in one tonight and it seemed to me that the drivers seat does not go very low or slide back very far... Am I crazy? I'm 6'2 and coming from a VW TDI (buyback yay) - I'll hopefully get a chance to go back and test drive tomorrow.
Does anyone have good interior night pictures? I'm concerned that the blue lights might bug my eyes - I have a hard time using a backlit keyboard that is blue.
Are there any pictures of the JBL sub/location? I could not find anything on the Hybrid/limited 16.
Edit: I can't find this info. If I plug an iPhone to the USB port will it show all my song info and album art on the screen? I know the CX5 does it but I cant find the info on the Rav
If someone could post a couple pictures or point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it!
Don't know where you're located, but TDI owners here whom I know are not about to part with their diesels. Even after whatever VW mods will be made the owners say that the TDI mileage will be better than any other vehicle they have looked at. A friend at church made a mod to his intake and says that he now gets 52 mpg highway, and my sister says that she gets 48 highway and drives at 75 mph on the Interstate. Anyway, good luck in your search for a hybrid RAV.
I'm in Cali. I get 45MPG average.... But I'm also at the point in my life that I'm sick of being so low to the ground and the car really is not that comfortable on long rides. Not only that but the Golf is a rough super noisy ride (it is fun to drive but my comfort is more important now)
Edit - ahhh the manual, didnt think about that for my iphone questions...
Hopefully the test drive will answer them but I also wanted feedback from owners. I'm not sure I can test drive at night to see the backlighting Maybe I can rent one for the weekend.
I find the leg room in most vehicles to be a bit too limited for me--the solution for my RAV4 (and the Prius and Prius v that preceded it) is a seat bracket extender. Easy to install and retains the benefits of all safety equipment. The best $250 accessory I purchased. Here is the link: Toyota RAV4 (2013-Present) Seat Brackets - Extend My Seat Store
Welp test drove it. So to answer my own questions in case anyone else looking finds this helpful.
Iphone can be plugged in VIA Usb and show album art etc
Seat was able to go down much further and back farther than I originally thought (do not need seat extensions)
JBL sub is on the back right side. I would definitely replace it if I buy the rav
I wasn't able to really see how blue backlighting looks to me. Can't really test drive when its pitch black. I pulled over in a shaded area to look and the blue looks a little cheapish to me (don't lynch me just an opinion - and I don't think it's a deal breaker)
0.9% Finance is for 60 months. Rav Hybrid in my area doesn't do anything longer so to get a payment around 350ish I would need to put 21k Down (which seems pretty high to me)
Just as a heads up before you buy. Most people hate the jbl system. In my experience it was terrible in my test drive. I've got the limited without tech package now and the system sounds decent. The "upgraded" jbl sounded like crap. There are threads about the horrible system. Solely replacing the sub won't make a difference. From owners comments it sounds like there is no crossover for the sub so it's being sent full range, and there is apparently no bass at all coming from the door speakers.
Why the .9%? You know Toyota is running 0% on these right now? Unless you're putting a lot down you're generally better going for that over the $750 back.
The RAV4 Hybrid appears to be one of just a few vehicles, that is in very high demand, and will probably stay that way (especially as gas prices creep up), for some time. I was surprised at how much they would deal, for the Camry Hybrid. They will stop making the 2016s shortly, and the 2017s will be on the boat.
When I first mentioned RAV4 Hybrid, to the dealer, the first thing I heard was, all the new ones arriving have already been spoken for. I know I am late to the game, compared to many of the members here, but I really didn't decide until I watched the CR review video.
We like the night time dash lights on ours, they, as most cars can be adjusted to your desired brightness. The optional LED floor lights are also really nice.
My wife likes the JBL Green Edge system but to me I think the factory system in my 07 Tacoma Sport sounds better. The JBL system in the RAV sounds good cranked up loud, but lacks decent bass at lower volume. This car is my wife's daily driver so as long as she is happy so am I:smile
I bought my Rav4 Limited Hybrid in June, 0% up to 5 yrs. Ran my credit and got the 0%, thought it was still in effect. I think the JBL audio/Entune system is excellent, but some reviews have been critical. Ive put 3000 miles on already(trip to Georgia from nyc) and I'm very impressed in every way. My first hybrid, first 4 cyl has been all they promised. Great MPG's closer to 40ish on highway trip, safety features a definite plus, smooth running, well designed vehicle. If you want the 'birds eye' back up camera I think you have to go Limited, could be wrong.Navigation, audio,App system, synched I phone, have been a treat after trading my 2006 Highlander. I would highly recommend this model.Iam seeing a lot of new Rav 4s on the road so I'd guess they are a hot item. Edmunds, etc rate this vehicle 4.5/5 I believe.Toyota hybrid technology is solid, been used n California for awhile.
