No V6 (or any option other than the standard even more anemic 4-banger).
No Sport model. Impractical sloping roofline leading to a shorter tailgate. Well, on the bright side, I've got at least 3 years of reading about cars to decide what to replace my 2011 Sport V6 with, and I thoroughly enjoy that kind of reading and test driving. |

Having seen the latest images, I'm even more disappointed in the interior... that orange and grey is butt ugly and the geometries of the design are a hodgepodge of conflicting elements.

I have to agree--stitching on the dash??? My 1986 Nissan had that, and it looked cheesy back then! Other things I noticed--no lock on the lower glove box, and what happened to the upper glove box? There's just a hole there with no door so whatever you place inside will fall out? And just where is the engine temperature gauge? No change to the window switches on the driver's door--auto up/down on driver's window only--why not all auto up/down switches as on the Camry? Oh, and what happened to the LED brake lights/tail lights? Back to incandescent light bulbs? This is Moving Forward? And what happened to the fender flares???

I'm a little relieved that the new Rav4 won't have the V6 and that it looks kinda Korean, now I won't need to trade mine in until I'm ready for an MDX in a few years.
Long live the 4.3 Sent from my HTC ONE X

2013 Toyota RAV4 is ending up in our news once again, this time with the Japanese based automaker releasing the very first images with the model which are revealing its lines ahead of the vehicle’s official debut set for the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show. The 2013 Toyota RAV4 will go on sale against models like the Ford Kuga (Escape), the Honda CR-V or the Subaru Forester and the vehicle is adopting a more modern design.
No official details on the 2013 Toyota RAV4 have been announced yet but the model is rumored to use an updated version of the current platform. The engine lineup is expected to be carried over from the outgoing model and this means that the 170 BHP from the 2.5 liter four-cylinder unit and the 268 BHP produced by the 3.5 liter V6 unit, will make their way under the hood of the model, with FWD or AWD choices. More details on the 2013 Toyota RAV4 will be announced at the L.A. Auto Show on November 28. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() by Cristian Gnaticov (my Google+) - Tuesday, November 27th, 2012 - filed under Motor Shows, News, Toyota. Image credit: . the only things I like about the new RAV are the new 6AT and the upgraded interior materials - everything else inside and out I generally dislike
