I like the styling, looks a little smaller, didn't think they would offer the V6 in it and I don't think it needs it, interior looks upgraded, like the new safety and entertainment features.

Toyota should have a small turbo engine line, don't know why they don't.

If I was in the market for a new small CUV I would seriously consider it.

But I think I'll keep my 2006 V6.

Not as good MPG as I was hoping.
2.7l instead of 2.5l would have been nice.
No mention of hybrid but there is a press conference with more details later.
I am not sure what I was expecting but thought there would be more.
Sounds like the same AWD we have now.
Guess the used V6s are going to be collectors!

I'm mixed. It was a redesign that needed to be done, but it has lost some masculinity on the front end, and now looks like any other crossover. I like the grille but the headlights will need to grow on me.

I think removing the spare worked out decently.

The profile reminds me of a Nissan Murano.

Like the 3rd generation, it seems to look better with roof bars than without.

I'm wondering how the interior quality will be. The Euro version got really nice soft/leather all over the dash, and I doubt it will all translate over to America.

Nice, but nothing to make it stand out from the crowd. Seems like Toyota is a follower from a design standpoint.

It seems like Toyota has a formula for its current cars.

• Camry grill
• Camry interior
• 6 speed trany
• lift gate
• Entune

No V6, and no mention of 3rd row seating. Those are two options that made teh Rav4 stand apart. Neither would be missed if they had not been in the Rav4.3 though.

I am pleased to see a 6 speed transmission finally and what looks like a little better design of some of the interior. I will be anxious to see one in person, but not beating a path to buy one. Bottom line, there are more options in this market segment.

That was THE REASON I bought the RAV4. I had a 97 and the only thing I did not like on that was the anemic 4 cylinder power. Do you have to get a Lexus or go up the line to get real power now???

Heads up that the Toyota website has updated their Rav4 page with a feature on the 2013 model. If you missed the reveal, you can watch it again on their linked Facebook page.

The more I look at it, the more I see a Ford Escape profile. I assume that the front end looking like a Camry is because they are moving towards a larger corporate look with all their models (like Lexus is doing with the hourglass grille). I think the rear end looks too much like a Scion xD.

No V6 and no easy-access to the spare - not sure I like that. If the spare is in the floor of the cargo area or is lowered by a winch that requires removal of everything in the back, that's a big pain if you have the vehicle loaded with groceries, family trip gear, etc. Throw in some rain on top of pulling everything out...I much prefer the spare on the back door.

I bought my 2008 (used) V6 by design, not because it just happened to have a V6.

Hopefully, I won't have to worry about what my next vehicle will be for a very long time.

The thing I liked about the RAV was the side swing door and the full size tire as a spare. With those gone it does look like every other CUV out there. But Toyota could have made the RAV4 as hideous like the current CRV.

1) Like the 6.1 inch standard backup camera.
2) The acoustic wind shields.
3) The 6 speed tranny.
