The Highlander is not slow, at just over 7 seconds 0-60, but it doesn't handle nearly as well nor does it have the mileage rating. And, it's a lot bigger.

Not enough choices to vote. I would have to see it first, the V6 isn't a deal breaker for me, but I sure am enjoying my V6 sport. If I had to commute more I would be more mpg conscious.

Aren't "No, they dropped the V6." and "I would if it still had the V6." essentially the same question?

I surely in the minority here, but I would have bought a Highlander over my V6 Rav if a Sport model had been available.

I wanted a firm handling, fast, fun vehicle that included practicality, but the Highlander handles very sponge-like.

I don't know the national sales numbers, but I suspect the I4 far outsells the V6. And we all know the story in other countries. This forum seems to represent a huge "V-6 bias", which I doubt is also true nationally. Toyota is simply making a business decision based on CAFE standards, national sales numbers, etc. I purposely bought an I4 in 07, and think it has more than enough power, and would buy another 4 cyl. even if the V-6 was available. And yes, I have driven the V6.

And the really sad part? They'll probably break all the sales records and the 4.4 will be a runaway success. The reason being most of the public doesn't want unique and distinctive, they want the same-old, same-old that everyone else has.
Hi James,

Sadly you're probably right.

I voted NO due to no v-6 engine. That was a req'ment for me.

I'd consider it, but it at least needs an optional engine. Turbo-4, turbodiesel, V-6, whatever. I just don't like large displacement NA 4-cylinder engines and never have. Shame about the third row seats being gone too. And they at least need to paint the friggin bumpers, I mean come on.... The Limited model with grey unpainted bumpers? That's just wrong.
