Production startup and delivery dates?

So, anyone at the dealership level know if mass production has started and when '13s will actually hit showrooms in the US and Canada?

I heard that production is starting in January. They could be trickling into showrooms within the month I would guess.

As of now (1st Jan. 2013) the Toyota U.S. web site is still trying to sell 2012 RAVs.

My dealer says they're in production. He has a Limited in one of the grey colors in his list of cars coming in, and he says he will have it in 3 - 4 weeks.

Should I believe him? :-)

Production started Japan in the fall; they were on the boat to NY in December. US production is slowly starting; I've seen one US VIN in a dealer inventory (2T...), amongst all the Japanese (JT....) ones.
Most will be AWD in our area (DC region). They're looking for profit margin i'm sure.

None of our four Winnipeg Toyota dealers has seen any '13 RAV's yet.

Just FYI, it's Canada, NOT US. In North America, the RAV4 is only built in the Woodstock, Ontario production plant. A US VIN would start with 1, 4, or 5. Canada is 2 and Mexico is 3.

Right; VINs beginning with 2T... are Canada. I should have said North America.
Thanks

dealer I bought from has 4.4 Limiteds..

Pokerstar:
Depending on where you are in NJ, it may be an ok drive to Gaithersburg Md. to check the FitzMall stock out-they have 4.4 Limited models available.
Inventory is slowly building now that Canada built models are showing in inventory so it won't be long.
My No. Va. dealers said the wouldn't be in until February, and still don't show inventory. That's one reason I bought in Md.
Maybe the superbowl ads will generate a surge in demand?

Thanks, NewRav2013.
I have since seen and test driven in NJ. But they a selling very quickly. And I am picky about color combo + JBL upgrade and lane change option. I think it will be months before mine is readily available. I am not going to order. I will wait for mpg reports in the meantime.
