I switched all interior lights on my 2015 Limited to LEDs. I really like the look and find the cargo light much brighter than stock. But it really focused my attention on the cargo light's lack of function. Every other car I've had with a cargo area had a light that turned on when the door was opened--even a sub $20k car. It is an annoyance to have to turn this light on and off.:frown
My question is: if someone forgets to turn it off, will it turn off automatically after a set time? Or will it stay on and run my battery down? If it does turn off after a time period, when attempting to turn it on later I suppose one would have to turn the switch off and then on again?
Ok just a little confused too. So If I just want to change out the dome light and cargo light for led on my 2013 le. What size lights do I need. Some say its 29 or is it 31 sizing. Should I just go to auto goodie and do I type in 2013 cargo light for rav4? Any suggestions appreciated.
Dome light is 31mm. Cargo light is 29mm. I had rec'd two 31mm bulbs so jimmied the socket to accept that size. But for a correct/precise fit you'll need the 29mm.
I bought the same kit, and it had two reverse lights with it. These will not light consistently. They act as if the bulbs are not maintaining a connection in the socket. Has anyone else run into this?
Do you mean the $5 rear license plate add-on bulbs, or the white lights that are illuminated with the transmission is in 'Reverse'?
If you mean the license plate lights, mine seem to work fine. Don't think the extra bulbs are meant for the back-up lights, but I tired it just to see if they would work. Without independent confirmation that they would indeed work and not cause any damage when used that way, I put the old bulbs back in, (which was a royal pain with my larger than average hands).
the reverse lights are accessible from inside the tail gate. But it did fix the issue. there were two LED assemblies that were in a clear glassine bag marked reverse.
Considering purchasing the (white) Autogoody Kit. Can someone with the kit comment on the following:
Do you loose the fade-in / fade-out functionality that the factory lighting provides?
Also, what's the colour temperature like? It can be quite hard to judge from photos; so where in the spectrum from warm-white to pure-white to blue/purple-white would you say these LEDs sit?
I have these installed. You do not lose the fade in/out (although it's not as gradual as the original lights but, still works!) the temp of them is almost pure white if anything, maybe a tad blue hint. They are similar to the "daylight" temp bulbs I have in the house, very bright and white, not the warm white (yellow) that the original ones are.
I ordered the set of interior lights plus the add-on for the license plate bulbs. Everything went smoothly, except how do you replace the license plate bulbs on a 2014? From inside? From Outside? How do I?

Bought the led kit and the orange 4 piece tool set. LED kit does not show what goes where. Found that on this forum.
Reverse lights the easiest to install. License plate light trickier as the space is not easy to get the fingers into. Vanity lights somewhat tricky as once have of dome plastic removed, you need to press tab towards the outside, I believe, to drop the outside portion of the fixture. Then you can twist the completed fixture out of the hole and replace the bulb withe the LED. Test LED before re-installing. Note: As someone posted before, after testing the LED, put dome plastic fixture on, then re-install the fixture in the hole. Map light fixture easy to remove and replace bulbs with LEDs. I was not able to replace the cargo light as I could not get the fixture removed, even though I had pried up over half of it. Quit before I did any damage. Can anybody give detailed instructions, step by step to removing this fixture?
No change in bulb sizes. I ordered the 2013-2015 white LED interior package and everything worked as it should. I love how the white LED license plate bulbs look on the blizzard pearl! The only one I did not end up changing yet was the cargo light, it was giving me a hard time unclipping the cover so I will just try it during the day tomorrow.
ps: make sure you choose the correct color... Not gonna mention any names but someone earlier in the thread ordered the wrong ones :wink
After 2 weeks, I finally received. But AutoGoody shipped me wrong LEDs. I don't have 2 map LEDs and got 6 vanity LEDs. I could pay less than half price from other sellers. It's my first time order LEDs from AutoGoody. I'll not buy anything from them!!
Give em a call and let em know, they're just people, and people make mistakes. I got everything I ordered in a week from them, plus extras of a couple of the lamps, very happy with AutoGoody's product and service. I ordered some LEDs on Amazon, they cost less, but they also weren't near as bright as the AG lamps, so you get what you pay for.
I ordered LEDs from AG. Installation went fine, except when I tried to replace the license plate bulbs, the LEDs wouldn't stay seated in the sockets. After emailing AG, they sent me 2 LEDs that stay in place. I'm happy with their customer service and would buy from them again.
Hi all,
Just wanted to provide some feedback concerning the replacement lights.
First, thanks to all for the good info, I purchased the Premium Led light kit from AutoGoody.com and just finished installing all the interior lights.
The kit worked out just fine, it provided 2 vanity, 2 map, 2 rear dome (1 extra) and 2 trunk (1 extra) lights. This is the same kit as is listed as the 2013-15 package. ( I guess they will update their website to include the 2016's.)
The install went flawless on my 2016 Rav4 Limited Hybrid. The lights themselves are brighter and bluer than original lights.
Very happy for the change over. I love my new Rav4, but boy did Toyota miss the boat on interior lighting. This kit helped bring this aspect up to speed.
You answered my question of whether or not these bulbs would work on the 2016 RAV4 hybrid! Did you purchase any of the tool kits mentioned in this thread to help with the install?
I have problem with AG LED Trunk light. When I turn switch on, off, the LED light will drop off. How to make it stay there? Now I just don't push the switch.
I was able to carefully remove all the light fixtures, including the trunk light, on my 2016 Rav4 with a narrow screwdriver, no special tools needed.
No damage to the housings..... to be on the safe side you could apply a small piece of tape to the slot end of the screwdriver to make it more "cushiony"
Thanks for all the info here. I just replaced my interior dome lights and rear cargo light with LEDs. Though I thought I had read that the cargo light would be the 28mm type. It was the wedge type, and very complicated to figure out how to get at it without breaking stuff. (2016 hybrid limited) The rear dome light used the 28mm bulb. And one more thing I didn't expect is that all of the bulbs are polarized. If it doesn't work the first time, turn it around.
The cargo bulb change from festoon to wedge on the 2016s has been mentioned twice, the AutoGoody kit I just got yesterday had all the correct lamps to make all interior changes to LED plus some extras.
I just swapped out the cargo lamp on my hybrid, surprised to see the mini wedge bulb, but I still had part of the AutoGoody extra bulbs they sent for my '15 Limited which included the right lamp, so I was good to go, waiting for the new kit to arrive. FYI... wearing a latex or nitrile glove helps get hold of the small bulbs.
I just finished updating my interior lights of my 2016 RAV4 hybrid with the kit from Autogoody and went mainly ok with the following notes:
- the packages they sent me didn't have enough lights to do the cargo area. I sent them Email and hopefully they will get back to me and send me the missing lights
- if you have larger hands, pulling out the old bulbs can be a bit difficult. They just pull straight out but you need to get a firm grip and pull
- I purchased tools on Amazon to do the job and they worked out well. I went with the Capri brand set
- The overhead lights in the main compartment are a different style that what is in the Precision LED video referenced earlier in this thread (push to turn on - not a switch). Still not difficult to remove though
- Also in that video it shows using a tool on the switch side to get the cargo light out, but it is backwards on my RAV4...I needed to go to the other side to pry it out.
All in all, it went relatively smoothly minus the missing cargo light. If you use the video I used to help you, just make note of some of my updates.

To anyone who has contacted AutoGoody, how long did it take for them to respond? Does anyone have their actual phone number? Their website says they respond quickly and sometimes off hours, but it has been 3 days and I have not heard a peep from them about my issue. Thx.
They respond quickly. I received LEDs, but I found that two reading LEDs were missing. I contacted AG. The 2nd day I received their reply. And about 2 weeks I received missing LEDs.
This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
