I can only find one picture of a pretty standard looking chrome tip for a 4.4. Personally I like the stock black one, any particular look you are going for? I think with tips the world is your oyster.

 

I looked at them but passed them up.....
To me, it draws your eye (attention) to the exhaust pipe sticking out. Why would you want to do that?

Keeping it black makes you never look there to begin with......JMHO.

Do a search on eBay if this is what you want to get for your RAV. That's where I saw the one's I looked at.

 

Once I get the Rav4, I may end up having my shop repipe and weld one on permanently and have it stick out w/o the weird angle. I'll let you guys know how it goes if I ever follow through with the project. Tough to say I'm going to do something with a car I don't even have yet. Shouldn't be more than $100 though for the labor; probably less.

 

Well, that's why I want to get one; because of the awkward angle haha. There are only 2 things I don't like about the design of the Rav: the large amount of black plastic and the angle of the exhaust pipe. I got it in Magnetic Gray so the plastic would blend in better (and I just like the color. That was the same color I had on my '10 Corolla S I traded for this), so that part is taken care of. Just wanted to do something with the ex. pipe. Thx for the suggestions!! :thumbs_up:

Anyone know if a tip from a 4.3 would work?
I personally agree with most of the group. I see what a 4.3 with and without the chrome tip and with the tip just does not look right. It looks like an after thought.

What are the big differences that you have noticed among those exhaust tips? Did you have a second choice or are they all very similar?

 

Looked in the local auto stores, they did not anything that would fit the RAV4. The unit I purchased off of eBay looked decent, was reasonably priced and listed as fitting a 2013 RAV4. I also emailed the seller the dia of the exhaust pipe to make sure it was going to fit. It fits and is secured by an allan key lock nut combination.

 

Took the polished stainless steel exhaust tip from my CR-V when I traded it for my RAV - fits fine on the RAV.

 

Does the exhaust tip make a difference on the sound?

 

Only if you remove the muffler first

 

My Rav is soooo quiet! Must be because my previous car had a TRD exhaust.

 

My rav4 is sooo quiet too, unless I am idling or stepping on the gas

I actually like the look... especially with the chrome plate cover...

I think if the badges were still on it would be a bit too much but since I took them off the tip gives it a clean look.

I got the titanium tip (blue tipped) matches my Z! Works for me and looks good as well.

Polish existing tip

The existing exhaust tip paint can be wiped off with lacquerthinner and then polished. Start with acoarse sand paper, sanding with progressively finer until 2000 or 2500wet-or-dry is used for the final finish. I did not sand all of the creases in the metal out but it looks reallynice.
