See attached photo. Vehicle has 2600 miles on it and a week or so ago we noticed this very small puddle of fluid in a depression on top of the transmission. Also, there is a slight smell of anti-freeze (syrup smell) when it's hot. Took it to Toyota dealer but they were unable to determine where it was coming from or even exactly what it was, although they believe it is oil. They had it for two hours, drove it quite a bit, and said they removed quite a few things to look around. We are to bring it back in in the next week or two for them to recheck it, or sooner if we see the fluid again. In the photo we think the dark brown piece is part of a leaf or some other road trash. Any ideas on what is happening?
We did not have any rustproofing done. We've owned it two months and have done nothing to it. As far as I know the dealer did not do it before we bought it but I'd have to double check to be sure.
I get the anti-freeze smell when I turn on the A/C, or if I idle for a long time.
There is never anything dripping off the engine.
The dealer couldn't find a leak, but they did smell it..
