Default Newby with a few questions

Hi all, just picked up my latest Ebay special. My first Rav.
A 1998 5 door.
Seem to drive well bar a few issues.

There is a little slack in the clutch pedal, I believe it can be adjusted out.
Is this done in the foot well?

It's got a clonk from the front (I knew this before parting with the cash).
I presume it's the anti roll bar links and bushes (sway bar) as it travels across the car.
Hit a bump on the left and it clonks rather loud, hit a bump on the right and it clonks the right and left.
Apart from this, is there any other common reasons for clonks?

I've only one key. (and my Mrs is insisting on one of her own, I think it's just in case I haven't been mug enough to fill her car up with fuel )
Is there any security/transponder in the key, or is it just a straight key cut job?
Cheers in advance.

How much did you pay for your Rav4 once you were said and done?

I am looking at getting one myself

1999 Toyota Rav - Alberta Cars For Sale - Kijiji Alberta Canada.

And I would add another 300 to drive out and get it. 8 hour drive through huge mountains.

I paid roughly that, (in GBP) though a year older and less miles at 190000km (118000 miles)
Mine came with plenty of Tax and Test, service history stamped up to 117000, and a flash head unit (now on Ebay as I can't work the friggin thing, too high tech for low brow me!).

That add you link to states that car jumps out of second gear.
I know these can jump out of 5th and the repair is fairly straight forward, but I wouldn't know about repairing 2nd gear??

Well, my local spanner man has had mine up on the jacks, seems there's play in the anti roll bar link and a little in the strut top mount at that side, but everything else is tight.
The ARB to chassis D bushes look tired as well, but I'll get the bar bound up with a few turns or electrical tape, that should take the slack out of them.
(I'm a tight bugger I know, but this is a budget banger for me, take the strain off my normal car)
As the weather is awful here, I'll let him do them after I beat him up on price.

Yes, I've found out the clutch pedal can be adjusted to take out the slack in the pedal box should be something like 5-10mm freeplay and a height of around 170mm, or so I'm told.

Cheers for the info on the key, will have to pop out and get one cut.
