So i found some trd springs for sale nearby me, 225 bucks, unused, and i am really tempted to contact the seller and buy them. has anyone put them on, and what their experience with them is? i am looking into eventually lifting my car (97 4 door, auto) and it seems like springs might be the way to start.
First you have to check if they are for lifting or lowering! At this time, they are very dificult to find though. In order for them to work properly, you'll have to also install a set of shocks. In this forum you can find lots of information regarding this subject. Price, that was more or less the same price when they first came out. Here is some info
thank you for pointing that out mensa, hadn't completely thought through that it could be lowering too. and i was planning on changing out the shocks around the same time i plan on lifting it, i got cracked bushings all around, but not a leak yet from them, but i am sure the time is coming.
Regarding the crack bushings, go to Energy Suspension. They have almost all the bushing you will need at a very low, low price. Here is the catalog. It solidifies the suspension quite a bit. Meaning, that is a once in a life time investment. BTW, its page 71.
Depends if they fit or not, theres 4 or 5 different springs listed for the Rav......some are too tall for whatever shocks are fitted as the piston length of the shocks can vary.....seems to come more into play with the 1998 facelift but could possibly affect your model.
