I found some fender flares at the junkyard. There appear to be two different models. One is slimmer and lines up with the front bumper. The rear continues into mud flaps. The other one has a bigger front bumper piece and the flares in the rear continue to the bottom of the wheel, no mud flaps.
Is the slide cladding different on fender flared models? I see it alot with the Rav4 graphic.
I assume that if you have the nerf bars, You cannot have mudflaps.
i think i get what you are talking about. saw a pre facelift rav4 one day (shortly after an accident, don't mind the tape around the windshield, drivers side headlight and bumper) and stopped to take a picture. you are right, there are the skinner fender flares and ones that are thicker that run in line to the bumper.
I have the skinnier of the fender flares, and i do have the mudflaps. they bolt right in line with the fender flares. sadly, i can't speak for the bigger ones though. picture for reference
Aftermarket fender flares available, are complete archs, thera are also some similar to the ones above made of stainless steel and chromed or primed or black oxy painted on ebay.
The fender flares I got are from Italy, up to min 6 cm wider, price was 170€ I think, at momnet dont remeber company but if interest I can digg in my brain and get the Name.
they have them for 3 and 5 doors, and not only chrome, they say its stainless steel with either chrome over it or primed for paint or black oxy coloured and good price,,, I am looking forward to change mines for the chrome version of the narrower ones.

Those are awesome! At this point, though, I would settle for the dealer installed, thinner version. Does anyone know where I can find them? I suspect that dealers have long discontinued this item.
Yes, there are a number of variations, as mentioned above, so research them carefully. I think having the body cladding or not does matter.
My two 2000s had two different factory sets. One was of fiberglass, I think, narrow, and was painted the silver body color (see my pic). The other set (still have this RAV-4) has wider black plastic flares, but not with the Nissan Frontier-like molded faux-rivet like in the pic above.
I remember the factory mud flaps also seemed to depend on the flares (or not) too.
A more direct question, will the 4 door "skinny" flares fit on 2 door model? I am assuming that the two versions are identical starting with the front fenders.
