My first post. Tks in advance for your reply. In sunny SoCal, don't plan to drive up to mtns, so thinking: How can I permanently lock center diff on 1997 4.1 manual AWD so driveshaft can be removed and car become 2WD always & forever? Would speeds over abt. 30 mph become a problem? If no operational problems, then couldn't I later change out the rear wheel-housing indep. suspension units with their 2WD counterparts from JY? Ready to lose the wind in my sails on this one, if you'll just give me all the sound tech reasons to cease and desist. Or is there after all a decent path to 2WD? This particular car has been in fam since brand new, is special to us, so we would prob. keep anyway.
