For the life of me I can't seem to get the axle out of the transmission, I know there is a snap ring that holds it in place, but even with a 3rt pri bar it won't budge. And advice or helpful tips would be great.

I don't see how you could get a slide hammer between the inner CV shaft housing and the transaxle housing. If you tried to pull on the whole axle from the wheel end you'd simply pull the inner shaft & boot out of it's housing. The inner shaft cup would still be in the transaxle.
