My 2001 RAV4L has 206,000 miles. Owned it since it was brand new.
Definitely a great car. Reliable. Safe. Worth it. |

2001 RAV4, L. 172,XXX. At, 130k, had to pay nearly 4k for a new transmission due to the much talked about faulty ECM. Eventually Toyota extended their warranty due bad PR and I was fully reimbursed. Other non-maintenance items:, had to replace the power window motor; two oil leaks (paid a Toyota dealer to replace gaskets...when i picked up my car at the dealer and ran it, the engine bay was full of oil and low oil light was on--their so-called mechanic botched the job). After the day, I never went to a dealer again for any major service. Maintenance items include new front struts at 160k. In spite of the very stressful transmission situation and Toyota dealer failures in southwestern Conn.,U.S. (Brookfield), I am overall satisfied with the RAV. That little engine just gets better over the years. Having owned the Rav since new, it's easy to get attached to this car. It's been there during the great and challenging lessons of my life and triumphs in the last 13 yrs. Today, it is enjoying its last stretch of roads in its long life in sunny Florida.

I guess my 2004 is not a contender at 29932 miles. Darn - it's gonna hit 30000 miles soon.

152k on my 2001, no problems except where my right heal wore a hole in the carpet (should have left the removable carpet section in place), and a slight leak in the roof area (still trying to figure that one out). Occasionally have the hard shift in reverse, so thinking about sending the computer module into chkengine in brooklyn.
