Hi all!
I have a 2003 Toyota Rav4. Today I had a minor accident in the parking lot of my work. I hit a patch of ice and slid into a pole that caused the passenger side of my front bumper to shatter and broke the fog light on the bumper. I am upset and concerned about how much this will cost to replace. Has anyone done this type of repair and know a guestimate of what I am looking to pay? I attached some photos to see the damage. Thanks!! Kim |

If you plan to do the work yourself you can Google various Toyota parts suppliers to see how much each charges. There could be underlying damage which wouldn't be evident until the bumper cover and damaged components are removed. The apparent sheet metal buckle under the headlamp will require specialised equipment to eliminate, such as used by body shops. With a number of variables it's difficult to estimate what the bill would be from forum pictures. It probably would be best to take the car to a few body shops which have good reputations for cost estimates. The cost for a full and competently done repair won't be cheap - you might want to get your insurance company involved. Good luck!

Ouch, that looks nasty. Take it to a body shop, at least you would have a better idea as to the extent of the damage. If the steel member that is situated behind the bumper is OK, you should be able to just change the part, which leave the small dent in the corner to be repaired by the paintless dent repair guy Good luck.
