Catalytic Converter for 2001

Recently on my 2001 Rav4 check engine turned on. Toyota service identified and concluded that catalytic converter needs to be replaced. They asked $1150 in order to fix this. Is that price reasonable? I tryed to search catalytic converter in Internet, but so far I couldn't find it for Rav4 2001.

Try this - it doesnt list anything SPECIFICALLY for the 2001, but there are generic ones..... you will have to see what fits....

$1150 seems a bit rich..... take it to your local exhaust shop and see what they quote......

Keep on RAVin.....

No, the Catylytic converter is covered under the 8yr./80k mile federal emissions warranty.

You should not have to pay if the dealer tells you that the cat needs to be replaced.

By the way this seems to be a common problem with the 2001 Ravs.

Good Luck.
