Well PIM, I guess the NFL would love to have any soccer team or even a Rugby team to put on some pads and line up against them, anytime.

In addition, there actually is relatively little time over the course of the hours that it now takes for a game to be played in which the ball is actually in play. Rugby is more exciting, and of course with real "football" - soccer - there is almost constant actual play and action. American "football" in comparison is snore city. But then to each their own, as the saying has it.

At soccer we have (without looking at last European Championship, because that was downright a horror) one of the top teams in the world in the Netherlands. I don't think NFL teams would be able to cope with the regulations at the soccer game. In fact, with there regular full body contact ways of trying to score, i doubt any of the team members would be standing in the field outside the first 15 minutes.

I do hope you know that bodily contact the way it goes in 'football' is penalized in soccer by red cards, which means you are out of the game immediately plus that soccer consists of 90 minutes play time with options to proceed for 60 (!) more. So soccer happens to be a lot longer and a lot harder (because of a lot more running needs to be done) in my opinion.

On the other hand, scoring isn't really needed in a lot of competitions. That's the downside of soccer.
