Is the RAV4.1 1997 5 speed radiator, the same for all models. Stick and auto? I'm asking because I found this web site that sell Aluminum Radiators. It's called Absolute Radiators.
I cleaned it and I'm still pouring coolant almost every time I go out. So I guess with a new one, I'll solve the problem. I don't like to use Radiator sealer. 19 years is a long time.
In your previous thread about having mud-like gunk in your radiator you didn't mention that your radiator is leaking. Did the leaking just suddenly appear? In the link to Absolute Radiators I didn't see a reference to the RAV4 in the Toyota section. Is there a RAV4 reference there? Wouldn't it be best to obtain a radiator designed for your RAV?
It had like a dark area in front of the A/C condenser. It has had it for a long time. I'll check it out tomorrow. Then I saw this clip on You Tube.
As you can listen, he is referring to that same area that I have mine. Hmmm, I have to check in that area. Regarding the Radiator, I once send an email in 2004: This is it.
Is this Zip an APO?
I will need additional info to quote shipping on ths Zip Code.
One of our members took the liberty of posting an email regarding a Radiator for the RAV4. We have a USA forum, but for the moment it's down. Anyway, I'm interested in the larger metal radiator for my 1997 Toyota RAV4. The price is $138.90. Can you please calculate the shipping charges for this Zip Code 00794.

OK, at that time (12 years ago), in this forum we had a ton of guys doing mods and what not. This helped that guys get radiators because I saw the ad first and I hooked up the guys. But checking there catalog, looks like they are no longer available. So, I'd have to check with another model Toyota see if one fits. I think the Celica one can do the trick. All the once you get now are for Automatic, mine is a stick.
Where does the person in the video live - in the Philippines? As he mentions in his tour of his RAV, his elimination of the EGR system would be illegal in the U.S. I couldn't see the radiator leak he says that he has, but he indicates that it is at the joint between the plastic tank and the cooling fins. If I had to replace a radiator I would try to find one made with brass tanks and cooling fins since they generally don't leak, but if they do the leak can be more easily soldered. The downside is that they're rather heavy.
here is where the problem is. As you can see, THAT HAS to be coolant. Since the condenser of the A/C is in front. Some where there is a leak. That smaller cooler is for the trans axle and the engine. Recently I changed the hoses, that was another "adventure". What do you guys think?
Could be anti-freeze, but looks more oily in the photo, would also have to leak into the wind. Might be atf from the trans-cooler.
White paper towels often help me find a leak. The towel is good at grabbing small drops of liquid when trying to trace a leak and the white paper helps show the liquid color. Plus I can often slide the paper into places I can't see easily.
I'm going to have to remove the transcooler to see what is going on. The thing is that it doesn't leave a puddle of oil, not even drops of oil. I even place foams under the car to see if any drops fall. Nothing. But hay, I'll keep working on it. This weekend I'm installing new Polyurethane bushings.
