Hi,
I'm new to this site.. I've recently become interested in cars and am looking for any smaller DIY projects for my US 2005 Rav4 L. I dont really know where to begin or what I can do, but if you guys know of any fun and cool things to do to your rav4 then let me know! -Andy |

Any chance you would find fluid changes fun?
How about a decal on the spare tire cover?

As Carbon hinted, some find that decals are 'cool'. Personally, I don't. Others will find it cool to put on larger wheels and tires, brace the suspension, beef up the engine, add soundproofing for the interior, upgrade the audio system, change the seats, add lights ... you name it, it's probably been done. Others have kept it simple by converting their headlights to auto-on or adding an auto door lock system. Again, find what YOU want to do to YOUR RAV, do a quick search to see if someone else has already addressed that issue, then read that thread. If you don't find your answer, go ahead and start a thread asking how to do that one particular project. Introducing yourself to the forum and asking "what can I do to my RAV?" is really opening up a can of worms. . |

i definitely want to get that grill (although it seems kind of overpriced) and a new set of horns.. any recommendations for a mature sounding horn? maybe something red that could be seen through the grill? or is that not a good place to put them? where are they normally located anyways? also, what do you guys think about

I did the following when I bought the rav base. Mine is 4.3 but that's not really relevant:
1. hood deflector (cheap and easy. From Amazon. WADE deflector) 2. chrome handle covers (cheap and easy. From Ebay. can be painted any color you like if the chrome goes bad) 3. window tinting (was an ok job. better left to the pros) 4. heated seat for my cloth seats (got pads and relay from ebay and took about 8 hours to complete) 5. Fog lights (about 5 hours job.from ebay. I had never done this before. Otherwise, just labour is about 2 hours) 6. remote starter (cold canada 7. cargo liner from Amazon 8. Side Steps/Nerf Bars from Amazon Start with the cheap and easy stuff first. Last edited by vanib; 02-01-2012 at 11:01 AM. |
