Hi dears how are you,, i want to ask something about my car, sorry for my bad English
the A/C was working fine but nowadays since about four weeks the weather here in Baghdad is extremely hot about 120 degrees today:wall
the problm is that when i switch the a/c on it blows a hot air at first while i hear the tic sound from the compressor but still hot air
after several times when i press on and off it blows cold air and still cold all the day , this problem just at the first turning the car and the a/c for the first time of the day ...... anyone can help me what is the problem ,, it is a protection to the compressor or maybe ther is a leak or something else.:serious:serious:D:D

So, everything to get a cold air is SET? like thermostat (highest just to check), blower (suggest do it at 1, 2, 3rd), is the A/C button pushed then lit up (green or amber light)?

if so, here's the next question: i may say 120F or probably somewhere 40-50C? well, if that's so, the A/C may not give you that coldness if it boils every metal of the vehicle. if at first it feels a bit cold, then stops, you may wanna take a look or consult a tech if your evaporator is freezing up. if it freezes up, it is clogged and it needs an expensive service.

and you are right, if there's a leak, like freon leak or it doesnt have freon or refrigerant, it wont give you cold temperature.

or if compressor is good or not,

or the dryer needs to be replaced,

or expansion valve is not properly working,

or cooling system problem,

have you tried going to a basement or covered parking lot then try again? is there a bad smell?

OR you can just try to check the CABIN FILTER. if dirty, replace it and run again.

Since your A/C works after you have switched it on and off and on again several times the problem may be in the electrical circuit which determines when the compressor is supposed to cool, and there apparently is no coolant leak in the system. With my 2011 RAV there is no click sound when I switch on the A/C. The compressor runs all of the time - it works to cool by an internal variable mechanism which is governed by the thermostat inside the RAV as you set the amount of cooling by the variable switch on the A/C control. It may be necessary to take your RAV to an A/C specialist to find out what the problem is with your A/C.

Good luck! 120 degrees is too hot to be without your A/C working properly!

I'm thinking your air conditioning is working just fine but you are not allowing enough time for it to work. We are in South Texas and the A/C takes a few minutes to start blowing cold air. Our temperatures are hot (99ºF -105ºF) but not as hot as your's are. Perhaps allow it a bit more time to do the job.

What RTexasF wrote occurred to me as well. If the A/C is first switched on and allowed to run for, for example, five minutes without switching it off and on again, does the A/C begin to produce cooler air? As he suggested, there might not be any problem with the system.

Hey Dears thank you all for helping me and giving me the advise, i take my car to the nearest A/C workshop here in Baghdad , he examine the pressure as what he said of the freon gas and tell me that is a high pressure may be due to a bad type of freon,so he offer me to withdraw it and put another one whis made in USA (i hope so thats right )
for about 70$ . i agreed and after doing it, yes its now working well and it much colder and doing well.
THANK YOU
