How is the 08 Rav4 Sport?

I have a few questions. I'm about to look at one for sale that's white with almost 70k miles. Records show 5k oil change service at toyota. It's got the 2az-fe engine but why only 06-08 models "affected" with the oil consumption? the 2az-fe is also in the 02-09 camrys as well. my sister's 05 camry with the same 2az-fe has 180k without any oil consumption issues.

Anyway, the sport version with 18" wheels, is the spare in the back also alloy 18"? or is it a steel spare? How well does the original white paint age? Did the cargo cover come standard or was it an option? what about the rear trunk carpet mat?

I'm sure lots of other Toyotas with the 2AZ-FE have the oil consumption problem, not just RAV4's. The spare on the back of the Sport is a matching 18" alloy. The rear carpet mat was an option, I don't know about the retractable cargo cover.

Depends on how well you take care of it. Realizing that today's environmentally friendly non-oil based paint is laid on your vehicle in a thickness barely that of a Post-It note piece of paper... personal care and vigilance toward the vehicle's paint should be well attended.

Toyota changed to a 2.5L engine in 2009 on the RAV4s ending any oil consumption issues the 2.4s may or may not have had. Since forums like this only hear of the ones that consume it may actually be a small percentage. I have a friend with the 2.4L in a RAV4 and another with 150,000 miles on their 2007 Camry 2.4L with no oil burning issues.
