That's unusual. You would think that if something started leaking, it'd keep leaking.
Did the engine overheat when you were doing this? Anything else unusual in your instrument cluster?

Thanks, rav4two, for your response.
In regard to your question, no, nothing out of the ordinary occurred. RPMs never exceeded 3500, and no other indicators flashed or beeped. As I mentioned earlier, I did this for only 2-3 minutes. After I noticed the leak (I dipped my finger into it and smelled it. It was definitely oil and had no odor.) I put down a piece of cardboard to be sure. I have new tires which are a rather aggressive all-season but not even close to off road rubber.

Hi!
Just tried the "brake dance" with my -07 d-cat rav4. Works like a charm. \o/ Now it's fun to drive in snowy Finland! :D |

I have the 2012 2.5 w/ 4WD. I cant seem the disable the VSC. I only have the trac off switch. Basically even with trac off i cant seem to complete a slide without the fuel getting cut off or the brakes kicking in. Very annoying. I wonder if this work on Rav4 with the trac off switch.

And this one might give you a better idea of the purpose of each feature.

Superfast way to do this:
Hand brake on, start car. Pump brake pedal three times, holding on the third pump. Pump hand brake three times, holding on the the third pump. (just to be clear, you now have the hand brake on and the brake pedal pushed down simultaneously) Pump brake pedal three times. The TC icon will light on the dash, the system is disabled. Zero thinking involved, 5 seconds max. |
