Default NEW! 4.3 - 2012 Toyota RAV4 – first images

Radio is the only thing I could locate that looked different. USB port added next to the auxiliary port. Bluetooth controls are located on the far side of the radio, not on the steering wheel. Girlfriend liked the sound of the bluetooth on the 2012 a lot better than on the 2011's bluelogic. (sport model)

Wow, Bluetooth controls on the far side of the radio? How convenient. And it looks like the shift knob is optional?

New model syndrome - it's going to take Toyota a while to work the bugs out. . .

The shifter is just what that dealer does. They claimed people like to steal them during test drives????

The bluetooth controls couldn't be much farther. I hope the new model thing was a joke. For anyone who didn't get it, 2012 is supposedly the final year of a model that many expected to be redesigned already.

That head unit looks pretty cheap and generic. I don't know why they couldn't put the BT controls on the wheel--they already have the audio controls there.

I've heard that the 2012 will be a very short model year and that the 2013's will come out early. We shall see.

Very handy for us in the UK

Could be that is a Japansese spec radio put in to "fill the hole" in a pre-prod model? (dunno, just a thought?)

Oh, and remember we Brits have to put up with the volume control on all radios on OUR far side - that has always bugged me

The car was at a dealer and for sale so unfortunately probably not pre-production. Unless toyota screwed something up or decides to change it mid year.

Yeah, that doesn't make sense at all...

I just purchased a 2012 Limited yesterday and I have BT controls for phone on my wheel. Just take that wheel and use it on every trim level!

They probably put it on the far side cause maybe most will have the bluetooth controls on the steering wheel.

Also, the other new thing is the rear headrests are not the low profile ones, although that happened midway through 2011.
