If it is a 2011, it should be under warranty.

1. You should have been given 3 keys.

2. Is your car battery dead?

3. You can unlock the driver's door with the key mechanically.

I do have the 3 keys BUT I think all the codes were wiped out.

the G key system (I think) totally disables all electrical systems if there is no code?

I can enter the car manually but nothing happens when I turn the key...not even the sound of the engine crank...nothing.

Any Toyota dealer will be able to help you. They all have the same access to Toyota's computer system.

well...the car started fine after the jump.

not sure why the battery died so i'll have to keep an eye on it.

Thanks for all the advice and insight guys...glad it's up and running now and not a transponder issue.

CHARGE THAT BATTERY BY AN EXTERNAL BATTERY CHARGER AND...EXAMINE THE BATTERY ELECTROLYTES IN EACH CELL. THEY MUST BE AT 1.2+ CLOSER TO 1.3 S.G.
Running around with a semi charged battery can lead to car failure at the most inopportune time and place

This is what I would do: I would immediately have the Rav 4 towed to the dealer and let them figure what the problem is. The insurance should cover the towing fee.

The OP can charge the battery, but the battery should be disconnected from the vehicle before charging. Also, jump-starting a vehicle could fry some of the electronics if not done properly, and the vehicle's warranty may not cover the damage. When not sure, turn the motor of the vehicle with the good battery off, then connect the jumper cable as needed, and use only the battery from the good vehicle -while connoted to the vehicle-to start the motor on the one with the dead battery.
