Valero is Venezuelan Oil. Very high Sulphur, and depending on the location of the refinery can really add deposits to your engine.

It's plain and simple s*** gas. Always will be.

Valero is Texas-based and gets most if its crude oil which is refined in the U.S. from U.S. and Mexico. It appears that you're confusing Valero with Citgo, which is owned by Venezuela.

There are a few Valeros in our area but I've only used them a couple of times. We have mostly Gulf, Speedway, Lukoil, and Shell. But ever since the Costco near me opened a gas station I've been getting my gas there and no issues so far and it's been a good 6 months now. The Costco near my work just opened their gas station a couple of days ago so between home and work I won't have to get as anywhere else execpt when we go on a long trip. Oh, and their gas is is always at least $0.10/gal cheaper than the next cheapest gas station around.

I remembered RtexasF's thread today.

I was down in Ogdensburg, NY for some quick shopping. I wanted to fill up my tank and a Valero gas station was right in front of me. I drove round the corner and filled up at Sunoco instead.

Wow, I'd say it's been 25 years since I've seen a Sunoco station. It's nice to be remembered for being gassy

I thought that Sunoco had been gobbled up by one of the Big Oil giants - used to have their stations in Northern California and coastal Oregon, but none for, well, probably 25 years here as well.

Off Topic: Back in the 80's I put on our marquee outside the boat store I worked at: "America has gas pains". It made the Birmingham Alabama newspapers complete with a picture and brought us more business than we could have ever imagined. Would'a thought?
