Default Mini fuses for Toyota differnt than others?

Had a really hard time finding the exact kind of "mini" fuses for my Rav4. Guy at parts store handed me a kit and I noticed they were not the same. He could not give me what I needed. Went to another store and got it but he had no idea if all Toyota fuses were different than standard "mini".

I looked on amazon and there is nothing that looks like our Toyota "mini" fuses. The other (standard) ones have very long bayonet-style contact blades which extend about 1/8" or more beyond the housing. Ours have very short contact blades that have almost zero projection beyond the plastic housing.

So what's up with this? Do we have to go to dealer and order $17.95 each Toyota mini fuses or is there something I am missing? Thanks!

These micro ATC fuses can be hard to find. Some companies call them APS fuses. This thread says that you can find them at Ebay, Amazon, and Harbor Freight:

Mini "low profile" ATM fuses - online sources?

You can buy a box of 100pcs on Amazon for around $10.

If you just need one or two fuses, don't forget the spares that are under the hood.

That's correct, located in the passenger side fuse box under the hood. There is also a white plastic fuse puller near the front of the box.

Thanks for the info. Saw some bad reviews on Amazon regarding those big multi packs. More Chinese junk. Bought a Littlefuse kit and a probe tester so you don't have to yank the fuses to test them.
How many other vehicles use these mini ATM fuses?

I'm using the Amazon fuses that I bought in bulk and I haven't had any problems and its been a few months now.

Where did you get the Littlefuse kit, and what was the price? Do you have a link?

I am more interested to see what probe tester BlackDogRav got.
