Any opinions on the color Black Forest Pearl? The last decision I have to make for my new Rav4 is which exterior color. I lean towards black, but the Black Forest Pearl has me intrigued. I can't tell how "teal" it is. At the dealership I saw it at dusk and in the rain. Some pictures online look like it has more of a dark blue hue, others I totally see teal, which I don't particularly want. I like the teal, just not for me.
Any thoughts or advice or opinions? I am sure it's one of those colors that is dependent on the lighting you are in, etc. |

Hi there
We don't have that colour in Australia, however I've looked at photos online and it does look quite "tealy". I think if you're leaning towards black then you should go for black, as at least that way you know what you're getting and you won't be worried every time the sun comes out. Me personally, I'm not a big fan. But that's probably just because I'm not used to it. |

Ever see that Seinfeld with the two faced? It's like that...
We actually test drove it and I almost got it. I wanted black but I thought the Black Forest Pearl was a cool color. When I was making a call I saw it in a different light and it was way more teal than I thought. If you like that than get it. If you like dark I would stick to a solid color.

I don't think it looks teal at all. It looks almost like black, but just a little different. I like the color. Color choice is very personal though, classis colors are clasic for a reason. If you have doubts, go black.
FWIW, I have a Speedway Blue Tacoma. After 4 years, I'm tired of the color. It is a bit over the top, and was not really my first choice, just got a really good deal on the truck. |

Its personal choice, but it looked to 'green' for me in the direct sun. I would go with black.

I recommend magnetic gray metallic, it's not as difficult to maintain as black and looks beautiful in the light. I had black one and believe me it takes a lot of time to maintain. I'm very glad I got the gray.

My 2010 Base V6 is Black Forest Pearl. In bright sunlight, it looks like a very dark green, but at dusk or night, it looks black. That being said, I was once parked next to a black RAV at night and there was a difference, however slight. The black one looked, well, blacker! Anyway, I'm very happy with it.

Keep in mind that ANY shade of black is a full time job in upkeep. Nothing looks better but keeping it that way is a major challenge and extremely time consuming. I detailed professionally for many years and still have all the equipment and knowledge. If you gave me a black car, any black car, I would sell it in a heartbeat.

I have 2010 RAV4 with Black Pearl, we really like the color, it does have more of a black/teal hue in bright sunlight, but it changes with the prevailing light. A feature that I like.
