I purchased a new 2007 Toyota RAV4, v6, Sport. At 75K mileage, I too had to replace the water pump. Hope sometime someone determines if it should have been recalled before now.

Willie, did you ever have the cooling system serviced? If my water pump is going to leak/fail, I hope it happens before my extended warranty runs out at 75K!

My water pump went out right at 60000 miles on my 2007 V6. They fixed it at no cost to me. Hoping that my 2011 doesn't have the same problem!

I've got a "platinum", no-deductible extended warranty on my '07, good until April, '14 or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. As I still don't even have 45,000 miles on the car, I might not even hit 60,000 miles before the warranty runs out. If the water pump is going to fail, therefore, I hope it's sooner rather than later.

Does anyone know whether Toyota had fixed the apparent V6 coolant pump problem by the time the 2011 RAV4s began to be produced?

I have a 2008 Rav 4 with the V6. The water pump is failing. I notice the coolant mist under the hood. We only have 24600 miles on the car. I am hoping the dealer will cover this. I scheduled an appointment on Friday morning. I see a lot of water pump problems with this car. I am curious as to why toyota has not recalled the part. Is there somewhere I can go to log the problem? Thanks

We bought my wife a certified 2008 Limited V6 with about 43k on the odo and the water pump went out at 48k. Luckily it was still under the certified warranty.

Nice! About 6 months ago, I bought my certified 2009 Limited V6 also with 43k on the odo and my water pump went out at 47k. Also covered by warranty thankfully. Hopefully it was a bad batch with the 08-09s.

I'm going to have to keep a close eye on my water pump...my 08 is only at 53K but it sounds like it is still quite likely to go anytime...
