Actually, I gave the 1996 Rav to my son-in-law in 2005 with about 185k miles on it. It's now in KY with his brother-in-law and must be closing in on 300k miles. It had started to burn oil at about 150k miles and was using a quart every 2000 miles.

My 2005 Rav has just started burning oil and is using a quart every 2000 miles. It's also a manual (the last year they offered manual transmission) and although it's only 4-cylinder, it flies. Last month I spanked a Miata racing up the mountain where I live - he couldn't believe how fast the Rav was up the mountain.

None of the other Ravs are burning oil yet. No synthetic oil in any of them.

None of the Ravs has ever been in the shop for anything other than scheduled maintenance and to replace the oil line (TSB) on the 2006. Incredibly reliable.

Toyota USA called today. They want to do an article on us and all the RAVs and why we like them. :-) They are planning to publish it in Toyota magazine.

You should drop a line to Toyota. The car commercial possibilities are ripe. But y'all need some Bama magnets and flags on those pups!! Come on... I'm showing ya up!!! LOL.
