There is actually quite a bit of difference in the Sport and the base. base has 16" steel wheels, Sport has 18"alloys. There is also a difference in the headlight surrounds, the fender flares, the fog lights, the spring rates and the struts are beefier in the sport, As well, up untill the 2010 modle year the Sport was only built in Japan...and it was only built at the lexus plant in Japan...the only Toyota branded vehicle ever to come off a Lexus line was the Rav4 Sport...there are other cosmetic differences as well...

Bases typically get upgraded to the 17" steels. The value package is on almsot every base. The 17 vs 18 inche wheels and corisponding tires would make the bigger difference off road.

Not sure how far you are from this one but it seems like a scam since these 2 links refer to same car!!! in different regions!!!

Yah I saw that one, got a little excited at first because of the low KMs until I saw the other ad right next to it lol. I found a nice '06 Sport in Montreal for 11k with 130,000 kms. That's a lot farther from me than the one in London for $9,900 with 180,000 kms though, not sure it's worth the hassle for the decrease KMs.

Awesome news. Post some pictures when you can. Do you mind saying how much you paid?

Congrats

Thanks! I will post pics as soon as the camera is all charged up. And I paid 13k for the car, and that included a warranty.

I think you had a good deal ... and hopefully you won't have to use the warranty.

Do you have the maintenance history on the vehicle?
If not, I would start changing oil, filter, differential/transaxle lube, change air filter, cabin filter (if needed) check transmission fluid, check brake fluid level, ....
