8000 miles in 2 years? Did I read that right? Dang! Just bought our new to us Rav4 today. My wife will have another 8000 miles on it by spring time.

Mine will be at two years in a couple of weeks and has just reached the grand total of 5285 miles! If I recall, RF and I are having a contest to determine who drives the least miles annually . . .

The winner would be my gal.....she picked her car up on Christmas Eve of 2007 and just went over 10,000 miles recently.

yep, short little commute. But like I said, I bought a house (my first ever!) a little further away, so will be adding more miles. Now that she's all broken in and all.

I try to talk my mother into a Toyota or Honda. She has a Ford Contour and absolutely loves it. She talks about how reliable it is. It's a 1996 and she's only been in the shop maybe 5 or 6 times.

The car has 56,000 miles on it. That's about 3300 miles per year for the 17 years she's owned it. I try to explain it to her how it sounds good, but that would equate to being in the shop 3-4 times per year for us. That is anything but quality.

I am so happy for you! It seems like a never ending struggle to keep it all in shape sometimes but it's worth every minute.....and dollar.

it's a big change, believe me. I don't think I've lived in a single family home since 1979!

Congrats on the move and the progress report on your Rav. Positive owner experiences like yours makes me feel great about pushing my wife toward purchasing her Rav a few weeks ago. All the best luck with your new home and continued enjoyment with your White Whale lol (my wife and I named her's "Ravi").

and I still like the white color, too (less fond of the beige interior, though -- had to find a beige towel to put on my passenger seat, 'cause that's where I dump all my stuff and it was getting dirty).

all in all, it still puts a smile on my face every day, and drives so nice! I hope to keep this vehicle indefinitely, or until it no longer makes economic sense to keep it.
