Default 2 year report from Violet

Hi guys. Haven't been around much, I guess because I haven't had any problems with my RAV. Just thought I'd pop in and give a report.

I've had my 2011 RAV4 v6 two years now. Mileage at end of December was 8750. Not much, but I've recently moved 10 miles away, so will be seeing an increase in daily mileage, and an increase in my miles per gallon (more highway driving). Oh, and I now have an actual garage for her! (and me!)

Really still very happy with my little white whale. It was so great to have when moving -- that back is huge and the door very convenient. So sad that they are discontinuing both the side door and the V6. I think I'll hold on to mine!

Only problem I've had is with the tires, which were continually attracting nails. I finally had to buy two new tires, and took the opportunity to buy Michelins. I swear the vehicle did not like those OEM tires!

Anyway, I haven't forgotten here, and I'm sure I'll be around if I need help down the line. Cheers!

Number of nails in Mazda 6 in 2.5 years: 0
Number of nails in my RAV in 1 year : 5

Must be those electronics creating super strong electromagnetic fields!

Two flats on my 2010 RAV4 so far....both on the same tire (passenger side, front)!

Bridgestone Duelers handle pretty well but are near their end of life with a little over 32,000 miles now.

White whale?

Congrats on now having a garage for your beast! Can you explain why you like the Michelins more than your OEM tires, and which OEM tires did your RAV have?

they had some kind of Toyo tires. I didn't like them, because the car didn't like them! Not a tire expert or critic -- just chose a reasonably medium price and performance tire for replacement.

Not to try to put you on the spot - maybe my non-comprehension is a male thing when trying to understand a lady's concept, but perhaps you can explain more what is meant by " . . the car didn't like them!"

just an impression I had because i had more problems with the tires than anything else.

oh, and I'm sure the new ones aren't "performance" tires -- probably a misspeaking there.
