I'll post some pics of the fog lights I bought when I have a minute, before and after the installation! Please be patient with me Dr. at my age, everything takes longer

Are you running a new power line from the battery, activated with a relay from the reverse light wire?

I'll connect the relay coil to the left reverse light and the 12V supply will come from the back of the accessory outlet on the left side of the cargo area. Still don't know if I need a second light on the right, I'll soon find out!

I apologize for the poor quality of the bracket picture, these auto-focus cameras have a mind of their own especially with dark objects; for those interested, just peek under your rear bumper for a better view, very easy to see...!

In your 4th picture it looked like you already have a hitch installed, a non-OEM one? The bracket in your 2nd picture would not be available as a light mounting point because it's already used by the factory hitch. That bracket is only present in the V6 models with the factory installed towing prep option. You won't find it in the I4 models.

I have a Class I Hidden Hitch (non-OEM) with 11/4" receiver for my bike rack and for a 3rd post for my tandem kayak. Thanks for the explanation for the mysterious brackets, they look very sturdy and are probably designed for a Class II hitch with 2" receiver. There are other ways to mount the lights using 90° brackets but that probably means drilling into the body/bumper steel beam or the hitch.

Still not wired up yet but when done, I'll post some pics.

Good news! I was backing up last night in a poorly lit parking lot only to discover that my cheap backup camera has a decent night vision feature...The extra light I will soon connect will only help further!
