RAV4, Side Mirror Turn signal lights, a BIG joke!

I got the RAV4 less than a month, and checking the turn signal lights on the side mirrors I thought they were not working. Well. they are, but they are a joke! Check this video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pTOv70NPW_U

I went to dealer, and of course, the guy with an attitude says he cannot fix it, period. That is the way they are! I told him that those turn signal lights were a joke, look like the RAV4 was made in China! They pulled another RAV4 from the lot, and sure enough, the lights blink the same way: VERY DIM. This is a safety feature, but to me and pardon the redundancy, they are BIG joke!

You need to get very close to see the light blinking!!!

Change the bulb. Those turn signals are only good if someone can see them. If Toyota delivers them that way, then upgrade it yourself.

Cars, snowboarding, house modding.

That seems like an odd angle to look at that light from. What does it look like as viewed from the car along side of your rear bumper in your blind spot, where that driver may not see your front and back turn signals?

Why would anybody be looking at your mirror for a turn signal anyway? I guess anyone with a pre-2009 Rav4 has an even bigger joke because we don't even have turn signals on our mirrors

If you look or are parallel to the car , you seen them, not really bright, but you see them. If you are ahead in front of the RAV4, you see nothing, just like the video shows.

If they were bulb, I will get the brightest bulb and replaced them , but they are LEDs.

As you suspected, they're bright and very noticeable when seen from the angle at which they're designed to be seen from. There's a bit of the lens that sticks out past the edge of the mirror housing and it flashes quite brightly when viewed from the side or further back in your blind spot.

most cars are designed that way, at least all the ones I've seen on the road. It's meant to be seen by drivers driving parallel to you who might be in your blind spot. At this position, they may not see your rear turn signals.

You mean Canada, not the US. Since late last year, most North American RAV4 production comes from Woodstock, Ontario.
