Blizzard pearl: special color?

For 2011, is the blizzard pearl a 'special color' option? Does this cost $220 extra? Dealers seem to suggest so, but Toyota's website doesn't change the cost when you build the vehicle (V6, limited) regardless of the color you choose. What gives?

Something is wrong with the site...build a Avalon, Sienna and a Highlander, below the standard color list is a premium block with the Blizzard Pearl at $220.

Still miss the V6 Rav4 though

The pearl color is a premium cost because of the paint process and the number of steps. I'm not a paint expert but I'm sure you can find the information online but yes it should be more expensive.

Blizzard Pearl is only on the Limited's, not the Base or Sport models.

The dealer is being straight up with you. Blizzard Pearl is a Tri Coat as opposed to two so it costs more. As mentioned by Pointblank it's Limiteds only. I have it and love it. When properly polished it simply glows.

Well aware of that...as is the OP (if you read his/her post). The point was, if you build a Limited on the Toyota website, it defaults to Blizzard Pearl as the color, if you change it to Black or whatever color...the price doesn't adjust to reflect the change made. If you build a Highlander or Avalon...it has a separate pick for "premium" which adds $220.

Raydahs is spot on. That was my question, and I'm aware it is limited to the 'limited'. It's just that there was no way for me to know the truth.. given the reputation of car dealers, and what Toyota's website says. Pricing of items doesn't always follow logic or cost. I thought maybe blizzard used to be an extra cost option in earlier years and Toyota decided to make it standard later. Who knows .

Anyway, the consensus seems to be that it is extra. The dealers are off the hook on that one.

It's definitely a $220 option; the same cost was applied to my Yaris; Blizzard Pearl is available on the RS version in Canada...

It's a b!tch of a colour to match if you need paintwork done...

Cheers

I simply love the "Blizzard Pearl" colour. Its awesome ... too bad, the base model doesnt come in that colour.

OTOH, when i bought my Rav4 base, dealers were even asking 300-500$ more for the white colour. Though my first preference was white and only white, i didnt feel like spending 500$ more on base model and invested that amount to the clear tank bra.
