Thanks Jim! I know one, one way trip doesn't give a good look, but I got 35.5 MPG coming into town this morning. And under similar temp, road, traffic conditions, I would be looking at really close to 34 MPG. But my trip (40 miles), has hills, curves and plenty of miles to make EVERY trip a bit different in MPG. Really, only controlled testing can truly show a difference.
Oh, and I felt like my coasting distance was also increased. But that's just going by feel.

Ya, that car looks sort of similar to RAVadoodle. Though definitely not as pretty as she is!! I'm already used to seeing homemade wheel skirts on the ecomodder forum. I think she looks pretty cool, IMO.
I appreciate your honesty!! Who knows, maybe the more you see her, the better you'll feel about the skirts.

Actually, those words were spoken to J. B. Grinnell who established the first private college West of the Mississippi. Later it was moved a bit South. I worked for the college.

Back to the subject, and on the lighter side - in the Seventies an independent group tested a number of front-end air dams. One performed so poorly that they taped its shipping box on the car instead and it performed better than the dam!

I admire all the thought and work that went into your Ravadoodle but all that for 30mpg?
I got 28.9mpg with the V-6, A/C on, and no hypermiling on a 150 mile drive....two people plus luggage. Perhaps I misunderstood what your mileage is.

Since the original Citroen 2CV was designed so that French farmers could load it up with chickens and produce and then drive across their fields to take them to market and possibly get a flat tire or two in the process, this skirtless 2014 model again is designed to allow for rear tire changes.

My tank mileage lately has been between 30-33. Not really good. I can get 33-38 MPG on the hwy. But that's 55 MPH or less. Not 70 constant. I had 2 passengers and went 70 MPH most of the way. No hypermiling, I was only relying on my mods to get me better mileage. When we encountered snow, ice, and slush, I had to slow down to around 60. Course slower if conditions got worse. Which they did in a couple of places.
We went over 2 different mountain passes as well.

I only averaged 30.5 MPG. But under our road/weather conditions, I'd say that's pretty good.

(I'm also working with a 23 MPG hwy EPA rating.)

RAVadoodle got to go to Seattle this past weekend.
I don't know about you guys, but I like the look of the skirts. Course, I'm getting used to them, and I'm enjoying getting 30-38 MPG with her.
