Door Edge Guards for 2012

Just purchased new 2012 RAV4....and love it. Because it is black forest in color, I did find door edge guards, but there are two types---4 strips and 2 strips. Can anyone tell me if you can only put the guards on the front doors...not rear. What has been experience with the guards.

The ones I got from Toyota are painted to match thin metal guards, one piece per door. I am not sure if you can get ft only.

The two strip kit is for the front doors only. Download the 10-page instructions if you don't have them, they are trickier to install than you might expect.

Should I buy the 4 strip kit and hope they go on the side doors? Does anyone have a 2012 with door guards on all 4 doors?

Yes I do, installed them after buying the truck, 10 minute job.

I think the four door strip is for the base model. The two fits the Sport but the rear doors have the molding so I do not think the rear strips will fit. I think it may be true for the Limited also.

Thank you so much for the info. Do you have the side moldings and did they interfere with the guards?

I have a 2010 Base in Black Forest. Bought the 4 dr kit from Toyota in matching color. Installing the first one was a bit tricky, but got the hang of it and the other 3 were done in minutes.

If you have the wheel flares it only takes two .
