Oh a post mentioned something about adding a wire to the backup 12 sense line.
"You will need to insert a 12v+ signal onto pin 5 of the 5-pin connector (Connector E82 - Part # 90980-11909)"
I think my car already has that pin. I recall a VSS, PB, Revere connector. Do I need to do anything with my reverse sense pin or just hook up the 4 pins as mentioned? If I did the quoted would that not give my rear cam 24/7?
yeah when in rev. I do not have voltage on thes lines?
Pin 13 = CA+ light +12 (camera power)
Pin 14 = CGND light ground (camera ground)
Though Pin 14 does have continuity to ground. So I think it is just a matter of getting the unit to sent +12 to the camera.
update:: I found a 12volt c-light adapter that put out 12 volts and applying to to the camera didn't help. So my guess is the unit is not bring up the RVC mode.
update:I checked the 5 pin connector and pin 5 does have 12+ going in to the unit when in revere. So what does i take to get the unit to show a camera input? On most cars it does not even check for video footage and shows a black screen in that case. This unit did show a reverse screen a long time ago (before I had the idea of putting in a cam) by accident but I never could recreate that.
update: I also pulled the radio and arched the + - leads in hopes to get it to hard reset. It did a full reboot but still no luck. Is there no eng. menu in these?
Ok got it, was a pin issue (pins didnt reach all the way in).
the +12 is showing 6 volts. So I did have to use another source. The 6 volts does not show a clear picture. Though since I'm mounting this near the backing lights cant I use that source of power?
