got "ERROR 1" when put in a CD

Just got my used 2006 base/i4, everything is in very good condition.

the only thing i did not check during test drive is the Radio

when i try to play a CD, after "reading disc", it gave me a "ERROR 1"
the radio and AUX work fine......

I refer to the owner's manual, it said the disc maybe dirty, damage or incert incorrectly.
I try about 10 different which I can play with other player and got the same message.

anyone had the same problem before??
is there anything I can do to fix this??

I'm sure there is somebody somewhere who could repair it, but good luck finding them. Problem is, even if you could locate a repair shop, the cost for repairs would be almost as much as a new head unit. If I were you I would look around on Ebay for a 6-disc changer model with a guarantee. I've seen many that have been pulled from a RAV that was totalled in a wreck. Any model from 2006-2010 should be plug and play, but make sure to get the NON-JBL, as the JBL head unit is worthless without the amp and uses different wiring. The 6-disc changer models can be spotted by looking for a LOAD button on the opposite side of the EJECT button.

If it has a "LOAD" button underneath the "TUNE-FILE" knob then it's a 6-disc changer.
