Is it possible to add XM Satellite radio for $50?

It is magnetic, but I think it also has adhesive on it. On mine, I never peeled off the backing so the adhesive is still on it. That mat on the dash should be a metal plate for a ground plane. If you can pry it off the plate you should be able to relocate it. These antennas come with a 10 foot cable, so you should be able to relocate it to the roof even if it comes from under the seat.

I started tracing the cable. It goes along the windshield/dash seam to the right. I can pick it up again behind the glove box. The problem I have is finding a way to get it out from the side of the dash where it seems to go.

It would seem the only way to remove the cable is rip out the dash. That's beyond my comfort/skill level, especially with the airbag (I don't like mucking with those things at all as I have no desire to have it repacked).

No, I did not disconnect the battery, just made sure the key was off. If I had been cutting and splicing wires though, I would have.

He even included the mounting brackets and a magnetic antenna which you can see stuck to the back of the unit.
