Default Cup holder inserts

Hi All,
I purchased a 2012 Rav 4 Sport a few days ago ... my first SUV! Anyhow, it has a removable cup holder insert in only one of the front cup holders. It helps to seat smaller cups and will be great for cleaning out the gunk that gets in there. The salesman said that it only comes with one which made no sense to me and I was wondering if that was true (surely he wouldn't lie to me?) where can I purchase a second one? Thanks!!

It's TRUE I think this was a change starting with the 2012 model year... before that they came with TWO! I work for Toyota at their Portland, Oregon port of entry. Part of my job is to do a "quality inspection" of the vehicles before they are trucked/railed to the dealers. I actually rejected the first 2012 RAV4 I processed... as I thought this was a mistake. Sorry to say... the salesman was actually telling the truth this time

Makes sense--mine came with 2 cup holder inserts, and one is still in the wrapper in the glove box. I like having 2 different size cup holders.

Only one cup holder adapter for 2012? My 2011 has two, but they haven't asked me to return one yet! Toyota really is achieving a new standard for being cheapskate!

Yikes! I wonder what Toyota charges for one...

Two in my '11. Maybe if cash gets tight I can auction one off...

I think they quoted me $40-$45 for one.

They are expensive little suckers, Ebay has pairs going for as much as $45. little ridiculous, IMO

FWIW, I actually prefer having one in place. That way I have one "small" cupholder and one "large". Of course I'm driving solo 90% of the time, YMMV if you have other people in the car sharing the cupholders on a regular basis.

My 2012 only had 1. I took a can cozy, cut the top half off and slit the sides in 3 places. My wife trimmed one of the cut flaps to allow the holders retainer flange to extend into the cozy. When I remove my drink the flange holds back the cozy. cheap (like me) and works pretty good. YMMV
