RoadRover I7104TR GPS Navigation/DVD head unit

It looks like I am going to go for it.. At some point you have to take your chances

Just not sure though which vendor... I have contacted Qualir but received no reply as of yet.

The unit has good reviews, I have heard from independent sources the GPS can run while you talk on the phone, and there have been no known FM quality complaints. I have had a lengthy chat about it with a rep from oemcargps.com and they claim the manufacturer of this unit, Roadrover to be one of the most locally reputable electronics manufacturers (in China).

Their site is kind of interesting... Looks like they have a next generation Win CE product in the pipeline as well as an Android device. Both not yet available for RAV4.

Roadrover canceled their contract with QualiR in January 2012. So all units, which are now sold out will not offered any more in the future.

@ all:
- RAV977 is identical with C7009TR, (RAV977 is a trade name of QualiR)
- but C7009TR is obsolete,
- up to date model with excellent audio processor, double radio tuner and new "i9" GUI is I7104TR (I stands for the new hardware series and believe me it's much more better than C7009TR)

- it's even possible to mod the skins by yourself and include own tools and apps into UI.

An how about directly from China?
What is funny , the Roadriver web site does not show it.. Instead they discuss an i10 platform..
Correction: I found it, but it is only offered for the 2012 RAV4 model Here

Try to find a dealer directly in China. But you always must ask explicitly about i10 series, otherwise they will offer their old classic series C7009TR off stock

No it matches all RAV4.3 from 2006 to 2012. My RAV4 is from 2007.
That means new 2012 Roadrover modell (i10 series) and it's complete plug&play even to the new 2012 RAV4 antenna plug.

Sorry, only the new GUI software and skins is called "i9". The HU is named i10 platform.

1: Did the USB/AUX cable from the center console connect into the radio.
2: What type of Mic does it have.
