I am installing a Myron and Davis GPS OEM looking radio in my wife's 2012 Rav4, my question is with the back up camera signal wire to let the deck know that I am in reverse so it will switch screens. The camera is wired to the Passenger side reverse light and the video wire is run, but the decks reverse signal wire is only about three foot long. Can it be run to the shifter in some way? Which wire? Really don't want to run another wire all the way back to the rear. Is the radio's signal wire a ground like the dvd stop playback that runs to the e-brake or is it a power wire? Thanks for the help!

Is it possible to see a picture or a drawing?
"Deck reverse signal wire"? May be it is the wire which is supposed to go to the parking brake or left disconnected? If it is indeed the wire that need to be connected to the 12v when car is put in reverse, JuneBug once mentioned that it could be tapped near the driver footwell. I will let him chime in on that. You could also extend the wire all the way to the reverse light. May be you can tell us which wire you are referring to by using the document below? http://www.myronanddavis.com/images/...tall-Guide.pdf

Take a look at the first page of the wiring schematic for the 2012 radio. In the middle of the page you'll see a square gray box. In the lower left hand corner it says "REV". I believe that that is a reverse signal wire that could be tapped to get the reverse signal you need for the HU. The connector in question is the white 28 pin harness that connects into the back of the factory radio, so it should be pretty easy to get to. Pin #2

So... how do you guys actually route the RCA cable from the rear door to the head unit? I know you start in the cargo door panel and then run it into the space behind a side panel in the cargo area. And then what?
