Default Would you trust BB to install a remote starter?

Did not negotiate this with the purchase of my beautiful '09 CPO Limited and now the wife is up my butt for this. Best Buy seems to be the cheapest price but I'm still leary. But I'm not ready to spend $600 either from the stealer. Thanks in advance.

I'd maybe trust them for a simple stereo install but anything beyond that is a no go for me.

Had one installed in my brother-in-law's 2008 RAV4 Base at BB in Anchorage. He is very pleased with it and I liked the price, $300.
They said their store does the most installs in the US. That's pretty easy to believe.
I'd ask how many Toyotas your BB has done.

See if you can negotiate with a local independent auto electronics place...you know, the kind that install stereos, upgraded sound systems, nav units, etc. I did negotiate at the dealer for a remote car starter and they recommended that I NOT get the Toyota Factory Remote Starter due to poor range. The bill on mine was $350 installed (although it was done for free as part of my negotiation)

I had one installed in my daughter's Yaris as a Christmas present a few years ago and it has worked fine. Best Buy did it and it wasn't expensive, I think about $150.00 total.

I bought my Viper system at Best Buy, but chose to have the local Toyota dealer to install it. The reasoning I used was that if the starter fails or the workmanship ever comes into question I have a leg to stand on when they have to replace things.

I had some initial grief when I told them I had no interest in the Toyota OEM system they kept pushing, but finally had the manager agree in writing that they would install my Viper system and, short of the Viper components themselves, would cover everything under the standard factory warranty that could be electrically affected by an auto starter and basic alarm.

While Best Buy may be cheaper I have a lot more peace of mind knowing I have the unit properly installed and that it will not affect my electrical system warranty should something happen.

Hope this helps...
