Just got off the phone with David from 'Lextreme'.
http://www.lextreme.com/tc.html He stated he can upgrade our RAV4 torque converters for a higher rpm stall speed and improve the performance. He has NOT done a RAV4 as of yet but feels confident he can do it. Sooooo, I'm willing to be a guinea pig but need to get my hands on a 'core' torque converter. Gonna check on Ebay but if anyone else here has one they are willing to let go, I'll consider this as well. If anyone has any good stories or horror stories to tell about Lextreme and their products, please feel free to share. Just thought I let peeps know where I'm headed before I go off the edge with nitrous or something. Oh...and one more thing. If/once I get this done, you know I'm going to report the results. If the results are favorable and others are willing to follow suite, I can sell my torque converter (Dunno for how much) to another person so they can send it off as a core as well. Did this back in the day at a Subaru site when the people involved wanted to minimize any downtime. ........I recommend getting a tranny cooler installed because this mod could increase tranny temperature, even if it is not necessarily needed. Disregard this here. It's for my own personal reference (E-Shopping). Precision Industries -Dragon Torque Converters... http://www.jdsperformance.com/index....=item&inmake=0 ***I just called these guys and left a message since they are being compared to Lextreme on the net*** ****Persnoal Note #2: Flash stall rpm was observed to be 2400rpm on the stock torque converter. ****

You should always install a tranny cooler when upgrading the tranny. It'd be nicer to have a shift kit to firm up and speed up shifts both up and down. Got a tranny kit in the Mark and dropped 4 tenths off my times. Before shifts took so long to complete just like the Rav. I think it'd be a marked improvement.

I included a link to a used TC in your 3/10s thread, but maybe with all the responses you didn't see it.
Here is a used TC on fleabay, under one day left on auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/06-07...Q5fAccessories

As for the valve body, I have a Level 10 PTS Hydrosystem (Fancy name for their valve body upgrade) on my Subaru SVX and my Subaru Outback. Man, those shifts are addictive. I highly recommend it but damn it's expensive. Kept my Outback transmission going strong for years now and it lasted through multiple, abusive turbo/nitrous launches and shifts.

Are you sure the ECU won't have a fit with the new torque converter? It uses a combination of all the sensors available to it to determine the operational state of the Rav, and if it sees a much higher engine speed compared to vehicle speed for any particular gear, it may think you are having slippage or any of a number of other things.

Thanks for the cudos, but you're really doing all the work! Can you share any specs (stall speed, etc) that this blue thing is suppose to improve?
I'm sure it was an interesting project for Lextreme to do...since you are at the bleeding edge of the V6 RAVolution. Did they have any other ideas that could be applied to our Rav4s?

Not to cut you short Myxalplyx. But that web site that you posted at the top. It detonates my computer McAfee Site Advisor to a RED alert.
