Default Buying A Battery for the RAV4

I don't know much about batteries at all. But when I went to AutoZone, they had two batteries for the '06 RAV4 V6 that I was interested in, the Duralast 24F-DLG $89.99 and the Duralast 35-DLG $94.99 ... www.autozone.com. I went with the Duralast 24F-DLG. I don't understand why it was cheaper than the Duralast 35-DLG since it has more cranking power, etc. Anyone know why?

I think you made a good choice. I'm just guessing here but was the warranty better/longer on the more expensive one?

I don't know the answer to your question-but I always liked Duralast product line. That's the battery I will get when I need one. I add distilled water every 6 months to the battery so it will be interesting to me how long the battery lasts. I don't thing the OME battery is top of the line I think the Duralast battery has more cranking power and capacity. When I bought brakes years ago the Duralast Gold were guaranteed for life just took them back and they would give you another set. They have ceramic pads for 59.00 I will have to call and see if they are guaranteed for the life of the vehicle.

We use the smaller 35 battery (I think since Optima says we should replace with a 35). I'm assuming the 24 will fit as well. Can someone confirm the size of the OEM battery?

advance auto (which has online coupon codes at the moment for 25.30 and 40 off) says both their 24 and 35 batteries fit my V6 4.3...posted a query about this in another thread...seems plenty have purchased the 24...

Only goes up to year 2008. What is interesting is Interstate says 24 F for a 3.5 and 35 for a 2.4 which would make more sense, being the bigger one for the 6 cylinder.

According to the link above from Truestart 35 's were in 1996-2008 maybe that battery was to small for the 6 cylinder's. After 2009 the 24F it seems were in both the 4 and 6 cylinders.

Then what the heck is Optima telling me to get the 35 for?

35 is small, I have it in corolla, it's insane to put it in RAV4 (IMHO)

Thanks for the replies. I still don't understand why the 24 was less than the 35... oh well.
