I read through this thread and several others on canister shields.
Is there a "simple" way of installing the OEM plastic shield without a need to manually fabricate something? Are there any off the shelf components (toyota or other manufacturers) that can be used? |

Anyone know what the consequences are of running without the subassembly? I ripped the one off my 08 and replaced it with a 90 degree pipe fitting.

You misunderstood the situation. The subassembly is gone ( I assume it's some kind of filter?) but the fumes are still routed to the charcoal cannister as originally planned. lol...nice try though...
