Default was just told at the dealer you have to heat transmision fluid when changing

has anybody ever heard about having the heat the transmission fluid prior to filling I was going to do a drain fill now I am a little worried its on a 08 4cyl auto

When you warm it up a bit, it flows quicker out of the bottle. That's all.

Yeah but you could probably pour it cold faster then it would take you to heat it up and pour it.

Maybe someone is confused by the idea that ATF quantity should be checked while it is hot. Can't think of single reason someone would ever heat the fluid before putting it in.

Been doing my own mechanicking since I was in high school (38 years ago) and this is the first time I've heard that one. Someone was either having fun with you or they are badly misinformed.

Maybe they meant warm the transmission before draining the fluid. That I can see.

WS is so thin it probably doesn't matter but I would take it for a short drive before I would drain the fluid.
