Default 2006 RAV4 Key Removal

When driving yesterday couldn't get the key out. Stopped for gas and key wouldn't turn past ACC, Moved the car and turned the wheel thinking it might be the steering lock.... no change.... Think it is something with the gear shift as I slammed it pretty hard into P and then it released.

You did remember to push the key in first didn't you. It's so automatic for me that if I actually though about it I'd have trouble, if you know what I mean.

Yep, thanks.... Not sure that is it. As it sure seems to have something to do with the gear shift.

Just tried mine. Had to move the lever forward to Park, but key wouldn't come out until I pulled it fully to the left. Must be done with a solenoid meaning some fuse is likely blown.
